J’étais parti de loin, un jour que me déchirèrent de ma terre.
Ce jour lors je fus dépouillé de mon passé
et traîné ailleurs, obligé de regarder ma vie d’un seul coup.
Ce coup de hache qui me coupa la vie,
le coup de foudre qui me brûla dedans,
la trombe qui me dispersa,
l’homme qui me regarda et me voulut pour soi.
Maintenant que mes racines regardent mes branches
et ensemble montrent soi mêmes au soleil,
Maintenant je vis en toi qui regardes ce que je suis
et tu observes en moi des souvenirs de ton passé,
et des racines que tu viens de retrouver.
